Peace: Carter just doesn't get itReader comment on item: The Blood of Abraham Submitted by Vinny wuwert (United States), Mar 7, 2007 at 23:08 Jimmy Carter just never got the entire picture. His delusion that America is the feared peace maker in the middle east is enough to make a person sick. Peace, properly defined is when two warring factions realize that only a total victory will bring Peace. Peace is when your enemy has been so badly beaten that it no longer poses a threat to your country. It has no war making ability what so ever. Last time America saw Peace was at the end of World War Two. I disagree that there is no relevance between Zionism and Arab positions. They are intertwined. Israel has a right to exist. The constant threats from pro Moslem nations like Lebanon, Iran, Syria and Jordan pose a threat to Israel for sure, but their ideals of wiping Israel from the face of the Earth are based in religious hatred of Christianity and the supremacy of Muhammad. The Koran teaches that anyone not a follower of Muhammad is an infidel and should be either converted or should die by the sword. I loved Pipes summary of the Carter work, The Blood of Abraham. A quick study for some one needing the proper perspective of today's Middle East confusion. Well done review. Deserves five stars! V.A.
