I've always thought that terrorists were an uneducated lot. The fact that these guys hold advanced degrees and still resort to terrorism is really mind boggling. If these guys are proven to be terrorists, we need to take a good, hard look at all Muslims in the United States, regardless of their "station in life". If we decide to appease the Arab- and Muslim-Americans by pussyfooting around the issue rather than tackling it head on, we have only ourselves to blame for future terrorism perpetrated by Muslims already in this country. Arab-Americans enjoying their American citizenship should prove their loyalty to their adopted country by being more understanding and more forthcoming, rather than taking on the attitude "we didn't tell you about such and such beacuse you didn't ask us". I'd like to see more Arab- & Muslim-Americans coming forth with any information they may consider helpful to the United States. The situation we're facing today is an extreme one which calls for extreme preventive measures so it is my hope that Arab- and Muslim-Americans will be a little more sensitive to our plight. After all, this is supposed to be their country too...if it isn't, they know their way back home.
Thank you, Dr. Pipes, for all your articles as they've been quite informative and very useful for me in my online debates with people from all over the world.
Jim
