The Shadow of the Palestinian National Charter
Reader comment on item: Arafat's Failure May Offer Seeds of Hope

Submitted by Eva Goldman (United States), May 9, 2002 at 18:09

Dr. Pipes,

I appreciate your insight into these matters, and I thank you (and your Webmaster) for creating a space for people to comment on your articles.

Would you care to comment on the fact that the Palestinian National Charter of 1968 has never been revised or revoked, despite the many requests on the part of Israel's friends? I believe the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish violence we have seen through the years is the result of the "Palestinians" adhering to their covenant to replace Israel and the Jews with themselves. Arafat, by himself, has no importance in this matter; as long as the charter is in effect, someone will be there to make sure it gets upheld.

Is it possible for our side to anull this awful thing, or must it be entirely the Palestinians' decision?
