Pipes appearance at public debates

Dear Dr. Pipes; I am sorry that you did not take advantage of debating the views of your detractors. You are an excellent debater, quick, fluent and convincing. I have heard you debate the views of those who stand on the other side and you were the clear winner. I firmly believe that your comments would have made mince meat of the detractor's arguments even if there is a small risk that some on the fringe would be influenced by the opposing view. I think you need to spread your message as widely as possible. While your reasons for not appearing on a joint panel with your detractors are sound, some might infer that you are "afraid" to test your views against their prattle. I urge you to exploit every reasonable opportunity to get your message across.
