non-involvement on MSNBC TVReader comment on item: Television in Time of War Submitted by Terry Senum (Canada), Aug 3, 2005 at 00:16 I am a christian who agrees with you in not going on American TV to talk about radical Islam with CNN or MSNBC. That just fuels the fire for AL-Jazeera. I have friends who are Muslim and if they knew you were going on TV their would be no-end to criticism by the comments you'd make if they were able to watch MSNBC or CNN.There is nothing more potent than lighting a match in the face of the enemy which has no love for the west. I studied with Muslims to learn about their religion. ... and am dismayed at what I have learned. I have a doctorate degree in Pentecostal theology. I applaud you Daniel Pipes for turning down an invitation not to debate radical Islam on TV. If Muslims in America or Canada don't appreciate our way of life, it's NO use to go public to debate our viewpoints about the Muslim religion or fanatical terrorists who want to destroy our way of life. It's best to remain silent than instigate hatred toward them. I always enjoy your comments and fascinating articles. Keep up the good work. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
