Yes, Considine is Appalling.

Reader comment on item: Academic Malfeasance: The Case of Christopher Bail
in response to reader comment: Horrible scholarship from American Academia?

Submitted by Peter Herz (United States), Sep 16, 2016 at 18:42

Dhimmi no More: I read Considine's call for Christians to accept Muhammad as a prophet in the _Huffington Post_. Yes, I am appalled, too.

How can a supposedly "Christian" theologian accept as a prophet someone who said that Christ did not die on the cross, when Christ's atoning sacrifice is central to all of the New Testament, to say nothing of how Christians have traditionally understood such things as the Mosaic ceremonial law and certain prophecies in the Psalms and Isaiah? That someone such as Considine can even be taken seriously suggests that wide swathes of both media and academia are nothing but organized ignorance--and devoted to a shocking obscurantism about what really went on in history.
