why Islam is winning

Reader comment on item: Who Will Write France's Future?

Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Jun 9, 2016 at 14:17

Two reasons. First, every single attack prompts hand wringing and self examination by Western liberal idiots -- in other words our so-called leaders. Second, we've failed to broadcast a compelling counter narrative.

Our Islamic enemies know what they are fighting, murdering and dying for. But their victims, in other words 'us', have a much less cohesive idea about who we are, what we stand for, and what we need to do to keep from becoming extinct. Nor do most of us seem able to distinguish that which differentiates Western, pluralistic society from Dar al-Islam. As long as this sorry state continues we'll get no traction in our fancifully titled 'war against terror'.
