Reader comment on item: The Dobbs List: "Militant Islam Reaches America"

Submitted by F. Shawki (United States), Sep 1, 2002 at 17:19

"This is very central to my whole outlook. Islam, the religion that is 1,400 years old, is comparable to Christianity, Judaism and other religions. It is a personal faith of a billion people.
The second topic is militant Islam or Islamism, which is a modern, 20th century ideology, arising at roughly the same time as fascism and Marxist-Leninism. It is attractive to a small percentage of Muslims. It is a mechanism, a blueprint, for taking over governments and running societies. It is something very different from Islam".

The above is what you said but it has mistakes.

The first mistake is that the Moslems do not consider their relgion a personal faith as you said but they want every person in the whole world to believe in it and if you do not you became an enemy and their duty to fight you if they have a power to do so. To fight the infidels may take diffrent routes including violance and killing and lying and cheating and dealing with drugs, etc.

The second mistake is that militant Islam did not start just in the 20th century; it started with the begining of Islam as a religion. Read the true history how the Moslems destroyed Egypt when they entered the country and how they destroyed the library of Alexandria with its science books. It is not only Egypt but whenever Islam entered any country the Moslems start to spread terrors per their Koran.

The Americans do not read the right history and they do not consider what happens in other countries as an indication that it could happen here also.
