President Obama's Youth in Indonesia.

Reader comment on item: Explaining Obama's Fixation with Israel: Linkage
in response to reader comment: Could the way he was raised be the reason ? ie. His Islamic childhood !

Submitted by David Lloyd-Jones (Canada), Jan 11, 2014 at 16:20

Phil writes:

"He was raised in a Muslim country. Taught the same as all Islamic children are. That Islam is the only way. That Jews are not to be treated as equals."

Nonsense. He spent part of his childhood in Indonesia, an Asian country in which many of the people are Muslims. He was brought up there in the expatriate and golf-club centered slice of society. His mother's life-style in Indonesia, as a peripatetic observer and foundation-supported student of local, and widely distributed, arts and crafts, is rather like that of friends who served there with the CIA.

Islam teaches that Jews, being "People of the Book," are to be treated with respect.
