Reader comment on item: Saddam Hussein: A Political Biography

Submitted by Jonathan Rick (United States), Mar 25, 2005 at 00:56

Dr. Pipes quotes Karsh and Rautsi as saying Saddam possessed "obsessive caution, endless patience, tenacious perseverance, impressive manipulative skills and utter ruthlessness."

While he uses the book's first edition, published in 1991 by Brassey's, the second edition, published in 2002 by Grove, uses different language: "great caution, endless patience, intense calculation, and utter ruthlessness." See page 36 at http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0802139787/.
