Nasser Abdo's double-speak

Reader comment on item: Another Islamist Soldier Turns Terrorist in Texas

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Aug 2, 2011 at 12:41

Nasser Abdo's last sentence in his statement last August ("We're not all terrorists, you know.") contradicts his bomb-making actions . Can any Muslim be trusted in the US military? Are there Christians or Jews that refuse to serve in the US military for similar reasons? We all have known some conscientious objectors and they are entitled to their opinions of not fighting in a war situation, however, actively seeking to kill innocent people does not come under the same category. If there's a way to find out exactly what a person's belief system is before joining the military, it should be implemented now.
