Reader comment on item: Another Islamist Soldier Turns Terrorist in Texas

Submitted by jd (United States), Aug 2, 2011 at 10:49

Daniel Pipes, while being an admittedly gifted scholar ... I have repeatedly read that he thinks that careful screening, presumably by savvy bureaucrats, can distiguish between radical and moderate Muslims. Bosh!

Our bureaucrats have squandered trillions chasing dreams of moderate Muslim Nirvana in Iraq and Afghanistan; the CIA calls the Muslim Brotherhood secular, and you think those nudniks can deploy an army of TSA-like screeners to sift out the terrorists? LOL!

Plus, the example of this very recruit in this essay shows that yesterday's moderate can become today's jihadi, either by religiosity or concealment.

Every Muslim is a potential jihadi.
