myopia or something more sinister?

Reader comment on item: Turmoil in Egypt

Dr. Pipes wrote: "Barack Obama initially reverted to the failed old policy of making nice with tyrants; now he is myopically siding with the Islamists against Mr. Mubarak."

We know Barack sided with the Muslim Raila Odinga in Kenya who agreed to impose Shariah law and whose followers went on a murder spree of the supporters of Odinga's Christian opponent when Mr. Odinga didn't win the election. We know that despite the fact that a Christian, Laurent Gbagbo, was legitimately reelected president of the Ivory Coast, Obama is attempting to force the installment of Alassane Ouattara, a Muslim.

We know that Obama has supported the extreme demands of Abbas against Israel including taking Jerusalem away from Israel and making it the capital of Palestine. Although this behavior is consistent with appeasing tyrants in order to make friends with them one can't help but wonder if there are pro-Islamist tendencies behind these policies.
