Does not make sense

He was not going to Iraq or Afghanistan to fight and kill. He is a psychiatrist -- not a soldier in infantry or a marine. His job is to counsel metally ill patients in office setting. At best he would have been saving lives. His motives for killing are obvious if one looks at him rationally.
