Re: The Far Right and Islamists
Reader comment on item: The Far Right & Jihadis in Alliance

Dear Dr.Pipes:

With regards to the relations between Islamists and the far right, it seems that groups on the far right either support Islamists and hate Israel (e.g. Aryan Nations) or, even if they don't support Islamists and oppose Islam altogether, still hate Israel and believe that Zionists are conspiring to take over the world (the BNP comes to mind).

Nonetheless, I do find one anomaly: the Aryan League of Iran. This is an openly neo-Nazi, Aryan supremacist group that opposes Islam yet supports Israel's right to exist (despite opposing Zionism on the grounds that it discriminates against Mizrahi Jews). In fact, the Aryan League of Iran even went so far as to support Israel's cause against Hizbullah in 2006 (albeit criticising its tactics).

Relevant quotes:

"Israel is right to want to destroy Hizbullah: Hizbullah is a ruthless terrorist and mafia organisation that is the enemy of the Aryan peoples. However, the way they are trying to destroy this organisation is severely flawed"- www.geocities.com/aryannews/news000015.htm

"We of the Aryan League...have always supported Israel's right to exist. From our perspective, this is not open to debate...It is a well known fact that Israel is a racist chauvinist state where non-European Jews...are severely prejudiced against"- www.geocities.com/aryannews/news00009.htm

Regards,

Aymenn.
