Kassams ShmassamsReader comment on item: Admitting Israel's Unilateral Withdrawals a Mistake Submitted by Julian S (Israel), Jan 21, 2009 at 09:04 In June 2005, Shimon Peres tried to diminish the importance of the Kassam rocket fire by belittling those in Sderot who complained by saying "kassams shmassams". His actual words were: "[We] have to stop being hysterical about the Kassams. We are all fanning the hysteria. What's the big deal? Kiryat Shmonah was shelled for years. What, there were no rockets in Kiryat Shmonah? We have to tell the Palestinians that Kassams, Shmassams, we're staying."
