On the contrary, the Founding Fathers despised `Musselmen', or those who practised Islam, as they despised `Papists', or those who practised Catholicism.
We - or at least the Islamo-grovellers among us, would call this attitude towards Islam `bigotry', but at least the Founding Fathers had certain convictions, a sense of purpose and identity. Too often Western political leaders, especially my own British political leaders, are willing to abandon these convictions, and dilute this sense of identity and purpose.
(`....stated that the very foundation of democracy laid by America's founding fathers was based on Islamic influence essentially from the Middle East.')
