Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI Changes His Tone

Submitted by Michael (United States), May 28, 2007 at 22:40

The Vicar of Christ on earth, it seems, has no faith in Christ in Heaven and so the Pope equivocates. Either Jesus Christ is who he claims to be or Christianity is a fraud. The Pope ought not to give away what he has no right to give away---the truth. He ought to stand firm in the Faith like the Spartans at Thermypole and leave the consequences to the Head of the Church who is in Heaven. Our job is to stand firm in the Faith and not shrink back. Our God is a man of war, a God of Battles and a consuming fire, not a mincing milquetoast theocrat.
