re Palestinians Radical Islamists?

Reader comment on item: War against Radical Islamists

Submitted by Tamara Stern (United States), Jun 18, 2002 at 12:21

Do the Palestinians' attempts to destroy the State of Israel overlap with your definitions of radical Islam?

Violent Palestinians are Muslims, for the most part, and they are radical in that they cannot be reasoned with, boldly claiming the need for more land as a reason to murder and torture.

They are different, however, from radical Muslims of the Taliban and the Khomeini regime, in that they live a more secular, less "religiously"- oriented, Western-style life (dress code, women's roles etc.).
