So far, this niqab theory is unproven. (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/newsnight/2006/12/wednesday_20th_december_2006.html). The last word should go to the West Yorkshire Police who was asked about the idea of Jama escaping in a niqab: "It's a possibility. He could have been wearing a pantomime horse outfit as well. But until we get him, we won't know for sure."
