Your Articles Are an Antidote to Political Correctness

Reader comment on item: State's Terror Untruths

Submitted by David l. Thomson (United States), May 28, 2002 at 20:50

As usual, you are "right on."

I just wish I knew whether the State Dep't (and the President) are waging disinformation or are just being simply foolish.

The problem is (militant) Islam. It will not be solved by wooing the Muslim countries. We will not have any thoroughly reliable military allies in the Middle East except Israel. We do not have any other reasonably reliable allies except the United Kingdom. We are not, and will not be loved throughout the world. We are the object of envy and greed and we must accept it.

I spent 1961/62 in Turkey; a moderate, modern Muslim country. One night, my Turkish Air Force counterpart deep in his cups, told me that the "sword of Islam would once again be raised to rule the world." So, even thirty years ago the fervor was there.

Please keep your articles coming; a hopeful antidote to political correctness.
