Reader comment on item: The Canadian Islamic Congress Discusses the Old Testament
in response to reader comment: Yes, read the Koran!

Submitted by PDM (United States), Jul 17, 2006 at 09:56

I have limited experience reading english translations of foreign literature. (I have read five english translations of Pushkin's Evgeny Onegin). They are all different. Some better than others. One my favorite. Not knowing how to read Russian, however leaves me at a disadvantage.

I have also read more than two versions of the koran. Many use very tame language while others use explicit phrases such as "kill."

Yes everyone now needs to read the koran - but which one? Picking up any version may leave a reader with the impression that islam is not so violent at all. When, in fact, one factors in the violence that is perpetrated by the people who follow this cult , it becomes obvious that the koran/islam does have evil intent.
