This Uni radicallism (I believe) stems from the young peoples' wish (historically) to become, or at least champion the "Freedom Fighter". Of course, the left leaning academics are all too willing to point out to them who the fighters are.

I spoke with a young student the other day wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Che Guevarra. I didn't question him about it. I'm sure I've forgotten much more about Che than he will ever know or ever bother to learn. But, I'm also quite sure the young man is not a bomb thrower, only trying to identify and rebel a liitle.
