It's the Arabs appeasing the US

Reader comment on item: Korean Delusions [of Appeasement]

Submitted by A disagreer (Canada), Oct 28, 2002 at 12:40

The Palestinians are small fry in the galaxy of interests. It's America who is on the warpath, and it's the Arabs who are appeasing it.

They paid 90 billion for the first Gulf war, .... now they supported the war against Afghanistan in which the US troops own safety was valued above that of civilians living there, ....now they are asked to support a war against Iraq, and Pentagon officials some have asked for a war with the entire middle east, from Iran to Syria to Lebanon to Saudi Arabia!

America is acting as if it wants to attack the entire Middle East: the Arabs are playing ball, "appeasing it", hoping it will just be good friends.

So who is appeasing whom?
