The compounding of error

Reader comment on item: A Key Change to "The Pope and the Koran"

Submitted by William (United States), Jan 29, 2006 at 09:06

The 'controversy' which came up over the alleged comments by the Pope is very interesting.

I would like to address both the Catholic and Muslim situations and then give the universal answer.

The Catholic Church ursurped powers of revelation based on a few passages of the Bible taken out of context. "Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church." Like it or not the rock her refers to Jesus not to Peter. Jesus is the cornerstone. Also, "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven" has given them licene to interpret as they see fit. Unfortunately, that passage really means: "Whatever you bind on earth has already been bound in heaven!".

Thus, Christianity changes not. The Word of God changes not. Its the same yesterday, today and forever.

Now, the Muslims have a different leader. They basically do not accept Jesus as Messiah, Savior. Jesus literally means: save men from their sins. When you begin with a weakness such as this movement suggests, there will be controvery.

The universal answer is to accept the universal solution for all humans. Accept the Savior and His completed work at Calvary. This simply means to 'generate a mustard sized live faith' by hearing the Good News about Jesus (See last part of Acts 8) and accepting His unconditional pardon.

All men can be saved. In reality, Jesus provided salvation and forgiveness of sins for all humans who ever have or ever will live.

Because men have been given a mind and a free will however...it can not be forced on them by me, any religion or movement or even God himself!

John 10 clearly points out that Jesus is the Door.

Many will not like that but so what?
