Re: DBVSarmaReader comment on item: Dhimmitude in Practice Submitted by Jaladhi (United States), Dec 30, 2005 at 15:48 I doubt very much that Indian government is going to do anything for it acquired the dhimmi status the day India became independent and granted special rights to Muslims in India to be governed by shariyah laws in civil matters. Indian government does not support Hindus even in India, let alone outside the country for fear of being called Hindu government.Secularism in India is only for Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, etc except Muslims. Muslims are not governed by secular laws of India. This is inspite of the fact that Muslims were given a country of their own, Pakistan, which was going to be governed by Islamic laws. In that case, those who opted to live in India should have been told to follow the laws of country which will be followed by all the citizens including Muslims. But the Indian leaders in their infinite wisdom chose a policy of appeasing Muslims from day one and bowing to their every whim for getting votes and are paying the price ever since. As one can expect, they will never interfere with the internal matter of a foreign country, and that too an Islamic country. The Indian government will be too afraid of the backlash from Indian Muslims as well as other Muslim countries from middle east. You can't expect any support from Muslims in India in this matter. They have lived with Hindus in India for centuries but they will support a Muslim across the world anyday over Hindus. They are dreaming for the day when entire India will be governed by shariah laws. For that matter the entire world.
