Personal Peace

Reader comment on item: My Gloom: Back to September 10

The whole boomer generation was focused on personal peace, a feeling of wellbeing, that all was reasonably good for the individual. Positing that, what is there to be worried about by them? The boomer generation was all about self, the whole world revolved around the individual. The individual was his own world, his own god, his own maker of laws, his own definer of good and bad, his own final court of appeal, his own set of final answers, and his own reflection in the pool. The boomer generation was the most narcissistic, the most self centered, the most selfish, and the most unwilling to sacrifice anything for anybody, the laziest, and the most useless generation in the history of this country. He or she believes in nothing more important than himself or herself. He imagines community equity in anything he desires and can't achieve or acquire for himself. He is willing to deny that anyone is more worthy of anything than he is and therefore assumes that anything better another has must have been stolen from him so he might as well destroy it to promote justice. He or she is the product of an overindulgent set of parents who did without during the great depression and/or WW II and therefore are out to relive their childhoods by reliving through their children what they never got. This overindulged generation is incurably spoiled and happy to stay that way. It is my hope that they can be dead and buried before we lose our freedom and liberties since they would never sacrifice anything to keep it and would rather be enslaved than impoverished of their toys. They have a poverty of the spirit, a laziness of the soul, a selfishness of the mind, and deadness where their care for others should be. They are the spoiled brats of our history and their excuses and accusations of others are boundless when they face inconvenience, the greatest sin of their imaginations. No matter what happens, don't send them the bill; they can't imagine the inconvenience. Their self-righteousness is exceeded only by their appetites. Any country gets the rulers they deserve and Billary were the quintessential Boomers.
