How can I avoid sarcasm and ridicule?

Reader comment on item: Foreword: Ignoring the Palestinian Civil War

Dear Dr Pipes:

When it comes to Islam my policy is of persistent but polite criticism. Sarcasm and ridicule is not polite. Still, many times I find it difficult not to laugh at the beauties of Muslim lives and politics.

My interest in (the so called) Palestine is limited but I try to do my research. Today, I was researching about Ismail Haniyeh who is a well known Hamas leader.

(sarcasm warning starts here) I was amused -as in ear-to-ear smile- that Mr Haniyeh led and won a "civil war" against Fatah some years ago. More research revealed that (the so called) Palestine has seen many Civil wars in her young life (ref 1)

How big a country has to be to have a civil war? The USA was several million sq miles big when it had her civil war. India has had many wars involving our Muslim brothers but our only Muslim-free civil war happened 5000 years ago and kingdoms spread over millions of sq miles were involved (the Mahabharata war). I don't know if the four kingdoms in the United Kingdom are currently loving each other or warring but the UK is also a very big island.

It seems you can have a civil war even when you are tiny as long as you belong to the ROP (religion of peace): our dear (so called) Palestine is just about 2500 sq miles in size. When it comes to harboring civil wars you can call Palestine a child prodigy.

Compared to Palestine, Israel is a giant. By Muslim standards, a civil war is overdue in Israel (end of sarcasm).

Sarcasm aside, Muslims must wake up and smell some coffee. They cannot win their way to peace and prosperity by lying about their 1400 long love for wars and violence. Peace is a beautiful thing. It lets people not have to bury their children. It leads to healthy and happy children. It lets countries discover vaccines against diseases. It let us create and enjoy beautiful music. It lets us like our neighbors even when they worship infidel gods. Islam has never seen peace. Has it ever wanted to?
