in response to reader comment: Phenomena of National Character - History Tells How - Not Why

Today, September 8, 2022, witnesses the passing of one of history's more notable personages, Elizabeth II, Queen of Great Britain. Prince Charles, her sone, now Charles III, is the nominal regent to succeed her.
In the vein of the topic presented here in this forum, 'National Character,' it is suggested that her Majesty was one individual of British descendency that typifies British National Character in a way that few other heads of state could match.
The embodiment of those things that were definitively and quintessentially British in ways that few of her predecessors could actually claim are now vividly recalled in reviewing 70 years of regal composure in the face of the conversely liberalized antics of a nation that has lost all sense of the global contributions (many questionable, but not the worse compared to other empires that contested with Britain to maintain supremacy); that even as the British empire was downsized by attrition of its colonial possessions and territorial ambitions, the monarchy remained the one iconic emblem of a time when rebellion was the rule of an era, its stability held its own under her influences. Is that now in jeopardy? We'll see.
