not just the left, it would seem

Reader comment on item: The Left ♥ CAIR, MPAC, et al.

Alarmingly, it may not just be the Left anymore. I hate seeming ungracious, but alas. It's been a long time since this thread was last updated, but I must remark on something that seems to not be attracting much notice.
As the author knows, there is a media fervor at the moment about an Al Jazeera journalist who was killed in some incident in the persistent terror hotbed of Jenin, during an operation in which she was embedded with IDF troops in a firefight with cold blooded murderers responsible for among other acts, a barbaric act of butchery committed in the "holy" consecration of Ramadan, against Orthodox Jews in Israel.
The circumstances of the killing remain cloudy and it seems, due to the Palestinian Authority's refusal to cooperate in any investigation with either Israel or the United States, that it is more than likely that she was killed by accidental fire from the terrorists rather than accidental fire from the IDF, which would never, ever seek to kill an innocent civilian in the first place.
Notwithstanding, yesterday, as per been customary Palestinian practice for a century, and customary terrorist practice elsewhere in the Mideast, a massive and violent funeral was staged on Friday, with the intent of stirring more fervor, to commit more murder. Apparently, according to some reports, this was against her family's wishes. Notwithstanding these wishes, protestors threw objects at the police seeking to maintain some order at the riotous procession, which occurred in Jerusalem itself, a jurisdiction under which Israel has a legal responsibility to maintain order.

My point is that distressingly, even in the conservative Washington Times, to which the author is a contributor, cause and effect was reversed and standard tactics of Palestinian and Arab terrorist riots throughout the Mideast, where apparently unbeknownst to the journalists covering the event, who produced this lovely headline: "Israeli police beat mourners at journalist's funeral."
As if there is any Israeli interest to "beat mourners!" The interest is merely to prevent an already riotous scene from descending completely into violent mayhem.

So it seems that at this point, the logic of Arab and Islamist terror, is no longer understood even by some conservatives in Washington. I beseech the author to educate his colleagues a bit.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Conservatives in general better understand the nature of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but not all of them all the time.

As for this being my task, I prefer not: www.danielpipes.org/blog/2012/01/the-middle-east-forum-strategy-not-advocacy.
