Western Security at Threshold of Serious Compromise of Rule of Law

Reader comment on item: Islamists Penetrate Western Security Services

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Aug 13, 2021 at 13:51

As times are changing so dramatically in the Middle East and it is becoming more and more apparent that the basis of Western society cannot 'hold the course,' the question of 'where it is all heading' is no longer answerable from a defined moral standing since those bastions of democracy have been compromised and the adherents of alternative bases of law (like Shar'ia) are now in an upsurge and the West is caught up in a 'global warming' frenzy and appears to have no clue as to 'where it is all heading.'
Ironically, for all of the diatribe of moral superiority of the west from a religious perspective versus the more hostile standing of resurgent Islam, it appears once again that somehow history is set to repeat that which was not learned from the last century: where did the message get lost?
It is now appearing that the West did not have that same courage of conviction that is emphatically displayed in the inhumane antics of a counter culture that is Islam. How did this get compromised?
Look at human nature, closely; period. It has been compromised from the beginning and will continue until the realization occurs that humanity cannot be expected to observe the rule of law it does not respect.
