Increasing Pressure from UN Secretary General to Acquit Iranian Islamic Regime: Why?

As time goes by and the American 46th Administrative Chief Executive moves away from the G7 conference with little to show for it in terms of America's former stance under the previous administration, now we read that the United Nations Secretary General is calling for lifting sanctions on the Iranian Islamic Regime imposed for that nation's wartime stance and unrelenting pursuit of thermo-nuclear armament to reinforce their demands to 'eliminate' Israel. What has happened?
With the new leadership in Teheran and other elements of the proxy activities apparently edging closer to instigating further anxieties in the region and the American 46th Administration seemingly posturing for a reinvented Middle East theater scenario, something's not quite right in the UN's attitude towards Israel if the Jewish Nation's decidedly greatest threat is being gifted a reprieve economically for reasons that can only be described as a renewed world threat to the Jewish existence. This can never be satisfactorily explained, at least not in terms of equity for some, but not far all. The implications are sinister on a world-wide scale. The American 46th Administrative Chief Executive's comment to Rivlin notwithstanding, how does that statement of not allowing Iranian Islamic Regime's stated intention to become nuclear hold when not being able to convince the UN to hold the course on curbing those intentions are still in contention. Who is fooling whom?
