You are saying he is on the path to absolute control but he has absolutely full control of Turkey or at least his clique of advisors has Therefore only logical conclusion is that he allowed Imamoglu to win. I have some thoughts but these are speculative so I won't speculate

Correct, he allowed Imamoglu to win. We don't know why but that should come out with time.
