I cannot agree with the general framing of the article, which has been dysfunctional for a longer time - the good and realistic right versus totally wacko left.

The fact is that there is no realistic-immigration-policy party. And the Right has largely failed by sliding into radicalism and marginalia. Eventually compromising the points that it would otherwise be "destined" to make.

And the idea that terror-acts get people into baby-making mode is not the intellectual challenge I would expect from Daniel Pipes. Who - unlike many on the hysterical right - has been notably realistic and clear-eyed, facts oriented. This far.
