Oh Boy!

Reader comment on item: A Parent's Guide to College Visits

Submitted by Barry Black (United States), Apr 17, 2017 at 10:37

Your words ring true. It's been quite a while since my oldest daughter decided she wanted to go to NYU. I said couldn't you pick a more expensive college?! She said, "Dad, they're very selective" and I replied "You forget I went there so how selective could they be?!"

Needless to say she was accepted and did remarkably well, but the stories she tells of the dorms and parties are the stuff of pulp fiction! She went in as a nice kid and came out as a hardened cynic----thanks NYU! However, in today's world, perhaps being cynical is not a bad thing!
