Reader comment on item: Is Radical Islam in Decline?
in response to reader comment: AOK on the aneurysm

Submitted by Mohammed Waza Khiddif id'Ullah (Australia), Nov 1, 2016 at 01:40

"Hey -- that reminds me. I've lost all 40 pounds that I was overweight, and the swelling that's been in my ankles for 20 years went away as soon as I got home. I'll bet I've had this monster in me for a long time".

Many Americans (and Australians for that matter) have been feeding in a good paddock for too long a time. A couple of years ago I slipped off my perch of never getting sick (unless by self-inflicted overindulgence in alcohol many years ago) - and had some gastro bug for 3 days. I lost about 10kilos - but after it felt and looked better. Other people noticed it too. So now once a week I have one day of not eating during the day. Not quite the 5/2 diet but it does make a difference. You probably were on fewer calories and eating less during your stay in the medical facility.

"So, how are you then? "
I was going to just say 'fine', but in the light of your medical escapades, I'll qualify that with a big, fat 'as far as I know".

"...Any aneurysms and excitement, or just dull, boring wonderful?"
It's never dull and I can't remember the last time I was really bored - so , all things considered , apart from some cash hassles, it's great really.
