Absolute Confidence Defeats the Need to Wrestle with the Sovereign Almighty

Reader comment on item: Ted Cruz for President
in response to reader comment: wrestling is not compatible with absolute confidence

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), May 24, 2016 at 18:57

Jacob's encounter with the pre-incarnate Yeshua tells a compelling narrative: His confidence was eternally bolstered when His Abrahamic promise was confirmed to him by the LORD Himself.

American politics, in the alternative, has no such confidence; indeed, any chance for confidence has, as we are told when the Spirit of the LORD exited the first Temple (Ezekiel 10-11), left the building.

Israel is now left to engage its own wrestling match to determine its destiny and the requirement to be dedicated to serving here LORD. Only when Israel fully recognizes her LORD (Zechariah 12, et seq.), does He return in fulfillment of Yeshua's words, blessed is he who calls upon the Name of the LORD.

Therein lays the absolute confidence Israel needs to receive her King of kings.
