Right Wing Also Feeds Off Mainstream Inaction

Reader comment on item: Is Knowing British Tax Laws Proof against Radical Islam?

Submitted by Dave (United States), Mar 6, 2015 at 17:23

Valls correctly identifies the violent elements of Islamism which feed the far right, but he forgot the biggest one: The lack of effective action on the part of mainstream politicians to protect the public. Two constructive steps would be to limit immigration from Muslim countries and to deport any radical Muslims already in France. If Valls thinks that he can counter the pathologies of a major world culture by funding a few feel-good classes than he is a complete fool and ranks right up there with George Bush and his democracy project for Afghanistan and Iraq. Keep on with this fecklessness and Europe will see fascism and civil war.
