Reader comment on item: Hamas vs. America

Submitted by John Randall Peacher (United States), May 6, 2005 at 04:49

Americans survived the 9-11-01 attacks upon our society because of shock and unbelief. We pulled together as a society and government agencies quickly went into action to stop any acts of retribution or revenge against the Islamic communities in this country.

The US government is doing a disservice by trying to integrate Islamic organizations such as CAIR, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas into the mainstream. We cannot let "bygones be bygones" when it comes to the very fabric of our social structure.

There are reports recently of Pakistan giving Saudi Arabia nuclear materials - but only in small quanities, we hear. President Bush is seen holding hands and taking a stroll with the leader, excuse me, dictator, of a nation that controls the materials in schools worldwide that teach intolerance, hatred, and murder to millions of children.

We are one more major attack from losing control. Another day like September 11, 2001 and the very social fabric that is holding our society together could unravel. As our leaders daydream and gaze upward, wishing for peace and tranquility, Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Al-Quieda and dozens of other terrorist organization, both past and present, await the opportune moment to strike. Americans may not be as calm, cool, and collective this time. Will we again be in a mad hunt for the terrorists and bogged down hunting for our own countrymen doing what they can to protect their families or seeking revenge for the next attack upon our nation?
