I wasn't serious about a Cyprus invasion -- just being facetious

Reader comment on item: Forty Years after the Invasion of Cyprus
in response to reader comment: simply welcome for the flotilla

Hi, Servet

I was just speaking tongue-in-cheek. Turkish President Erdogan continually criticizes Israel, for occupying the land of their forefathers; yet he ignores the fact that the Turks have seized the ancient homeland of the Greeks in Cyprus.

I don't expect there to be a "North Cypriot flotilla", or any such thing.

A couple weeks ago, Greek aircraft locked their radar beams on some Turkish ships that intruded Greek territory. That's a very risky maneuver, that could lead to war with the slightest mistake. I don't expect enduring peace to break out any time soon. Instead, all I see is an ever-widening war. Perhaps Cyprus will get involved. We've already been bombed in Washington, New York and Boston; and there are active hostilities from Zamboanga to Timbuktu
