Ali Abunimah's Intifada Confronts Ayelet Shaked's War - "Genocide"

Dear Daniel Pipes,

I hope you will update your Forum with a more recent post on Israel and/or Palestine.

Until you do that it seems this is the best place to "post" a comment on the current events there.

With the murders of youths and a barrage of missiles into Israel from Gaza I foud this clash of "intellects" highly revealing. It makes me think, among other things, that Israel is the right combination of Athens and Sparta - and that will make it much more likely of surviving as the Jewish people.

In places like the United States, assimilation (a kind of genocide) is very high; it's as if Jews need to be hated, otherwise they blend in with their sourrounding neighbors - precisely because their essential culture is so accepting of the "other,"

But Providence (perhaps) has insured that Abrahams other son's descendants will hate the Jews (i'm being metaphorical) to insure that Jews in Israel at least will not disappear from the planet.

Now here is a young, beautiful, "next-generation" Israeli Jewess, scientist and politician who essentially acknowledges that Israel is in a state-of-war with Palestinian "snakes" - what else do you call Palestinians who want to murder Jews just because they aren't Muslim Arabs?

But the inventor of the Electronic Intifada accuses HER (falsely) of expressing "genocide" against the Palestinian Arabs.

We need to acknowledge, also, how the "Arab Spring" has turned into an Arab Islamist Nightmare. And the Palestinians, like other Islamists in the world, still are struggling to accept living in the modern world of the 21st Century - Democratically. Instead, they culturally accept our Internet, and diverse explosive weapons - in order to install - ultimately - their substantial dream, or fantacy, of a 7th Century Caliphate. If they could only learn from the Jews the ability to accept the Anglo-American-European sense of a secular political life - and leave the Comming of the Messiah to the Rabbis.
