no Biblical legacy

Reader comment on item: The U.S. legacy in the Middle East is disappearing
in response to reader comment: Focus on Israel is Through the Lens of Her Eternal Sovereign

I prefer to think of Israel as free from any Biblical legacy. The more recent history of the creation of the state of Israel and the Holocaust is of biblical dimensions all by itself. The State of Israel's success in my eyes is some sort of modern day miracle. I compare this to West Germany in 1948. When the introduction for the Deutsche Mark triggered the blockade of Berlin, given the immediate history of the time, given the enormous threat of the Soviet Union, who would have thought West Germany would evolve the way it did.

The same can be said about Israel 1948. Who would have imagined today's Israel given the Arab threat faced by a bunch of survivors, refugees, who barely survived, from all over Europe united in some desolate place. Both histories are unique and in some weird way similar.
