Reader comment on item: The Ayatollah, the Novelist [Salman Rushdie], and the West

At the Bolton demonstration there were at best 700 people and not 7000. How do I know I was there.

The demonstration was held after Friday Prayers, at the best there were about 3000 people in the congregations across Bolton, and only some of them (mainly the unemployed) could participate in the demo.

I did not attend myself but relied on press coverage of the event.
