How about the Christian refugees?

Reader comment on item: Let Refugees Remain in Their Own Culture Zones

Submitted by Zenobia van Dongen (Nicaragua), Sep 25, 2013 at 12:39

Why do you equate Syria with Islam? None of your objections apply to the millions of Christian (and perhaps Druze) refugees. Certainly there can be no objection to admitting them. As a matter of fact they would be useful allies in combatting Islamism in Western countries.

By the way, Dr Pipes, would you please explain why Saudi Arabia is so intent on suppressing the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood? I am mystified by recent developments.

Daniel Pipes replies:

1 - I don't equate the two. Read the addenda.

2 - Complicated story but basically the Saudi fear of the MB results from the latter's anti-monarchical views.
