I was born an Alawite in Antakya which, since 1939 belongs to Turkey. I grew up abroad and have been there for many visits as a child and young man.
I think the article is great.
I also think as a member of the Alawite community I can call for change. Peace and acceptance, tolerance and love is the only way out for all the people of the Middle East. All religions only want to indoctrinate and divide into believers or non -believers. There is no difference between a Sunni. an Alawite, a Jew or a Christian because those are only beliefs. Beliefs that evolved in dark times when people lived in fear of the night and the fire. We all, I mean all the educated and truly enlightened children of god should refuse any doctrine that tells us to harm our brothers and sisters.
