Morsi and his salary and حاميها حراميها

Reader comment on item: Are Egypt's Islamists Heading for a Fall?

Dr. Pipes

My job dropped when I heard Amr Addeb the famous TV host in Cairo saying that Morsi's basic salary is about $1250 per month which is about 10,000 Egyptian Pounds (EP) but it seems that Morsi is claiming many benefits and bonuses that would make his monthly salary about 300,000 EP or $37,500 per month in a country where 40-50% of the people make about $2/per day

But again Egyptians have this wonderful saying: حاميها حراميها or he who is supposed to be in charge is the thief
