Reza Aslan revisited! Liar? Ignorant? it is up to the readers to judge him

I was watching, again, this old exchange between Reza Aslan and Sam Harris on youtube again I urge you to check the video at minute 23:29 and here is what Reza Aslan says

"The Qur'an actually forbids slavery"

He is either ignorant (which means that he cannot tell us about what the Qur'an says or does not say) or he really knew about ma malikat aymanakum or that Allah allows and does not forbid slavery as he claimed which would make him a liar (which I expect that someone like him that wrote a book like "There is God but God" should be aware of such fact).

I will leave this to the readers to judge him
