The Real Challenge is to Find the Verses of Love for All

Reader comment on item: Mocking Muhammad Is Not Hate Speech
in response to reader comment: a challenge in finding any verse for killing the unbeliever just because they are unbelievers

And herein is the basis of people seeking controversy where instead they should seek the common ground for the commandment of Jesus Christ, to love one another as Christ has loved us. The challenge then is that in the rebellious mentality of not wanting to take Jesus Christ at His Word, how does mankind then relate within humanity? For some, as with those who are in an uproar over the presentation of Islam in some film, they find their inability to function in a civilized manner for the sake of religious zealotry.

As I believe I said once a long, LONG time ago, I am not so familiar with the Suras, hadiths or the pronouncements of the imams so as to point out the specific verse that you are trying to promote. There have been more well documented presentations of where these might be quoted by others more qualified as Muslim individuals and I have taken them at their scholastic qualification to speak to such things.

However, if in fact there is no such declaration to kill unbelievers who do not surrender in submission to the Quran or other sayings of the Islamic Prophet, then there are a whole lot of Muslims that have a lot of explaining to do: and they must do it, not anyone else.

"…nor is this the first time Islamists have specifically targeted infidels. In Malaysia in 2000, for example, jihadists purposefully killed two non-Muslim hostages and spared two others, both Muslims. In Pakistan in 2002, a police chief noted killers "took a good fifteen minutes in segregating the Christians and making sure that each one of their targets gets the most horrific death." The murderers separated Christians from Muslims by requiring each hostage to recite a verse from the Koran. Those who could not were shot."New York Sun Jun 2004.

So then, the challenge is for those who killed in the name of the Quran to provide their justification; that if in fact there are no such admonitions to exterminate unbelievers, then the fundamentalist Islamists are engaging in murderous religious zealotry that is as unjustified as any who blasphemed the Name of Christ and killed for that reason- neither are truly justified in the eyes of Jesus Christ as He has said of the Father. Therefore His is the last Word on the subject.
