Arab Upheaval - Muslim Discontent

Reader comment on item: Arab Spring, Muslim Winter

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Dec 2, 2011 at 13:22

The seasons of Muslim discontent do not march to the solstices, but are responses to a deeper humanist mentality that cannot reconcile itself to an ideology that has a hard time understanding humanity. A military/oligarchic ruling elite uses this confusion to maintain authority in those societies which do not recognize the freedom of the human spirit but instead takes advantage of the frailties for the sake of domination.

It is, therefore, no wonder that there is discontent.
