I completely agree with everything you said. Just for the record, my comment was not meant as a diagnosis. I am not qualified to do so. Even my agreeing with you doesn't mean much as I am not a psychiatrist or similar. Cognitive dissonance is not a malady as such. But I think we are both right as he can be everything you said, but still be subject to cognitive dissonance.
